About Me

Marcelo Chaparro is an Argentine scriptwriter with an extensive career that ranges from psychoanalysis and philosophy to theater, acting, and teaching.

Among his works, the writing of the script for the multi-award-winning film “The Winter” directed by Emiliano Torres stands out. The film premiered in the Official Section of the San Sebastian International Festival (2016) and won the Jury Prize among more than twenty other international awards.

He has been living in vienna (Austria) for the last 10 years, where he develops an intense activity as a theater teacher, director and playwright, while doing authorial collaboration works on film and series projects.

He has also written scripts for TV series; one of his notable works has been  “The Promised Land” was recently selected for the Copro Market Series at the Berlinale (2022), being the first Latin American project to participate in said section. 

Since 2013, he has been directing the ensemble “Puro Teatro Viena,” an intercultural project based in Vienna where he teaches acting classes and directs the plays that the group presents over more than ten years.

 

Each story has its magic, its mystery and its originality. Each script is not only different, but the experience of writing it is always different. A successful script is a movie that happens while we read it
